With version 7.0, WorkflowGen has adopted GraphQL for its new API, as well as modules for both incoming and outgoing webhooks, creating exciting new avenues for integration.

WorkflowGen is already a low-code development solution for creating process-based applications with a high level of configuration possibilities; the GraphQL API allows WorkflowGen developers to reach whole new levels of integration and customization.

GraphQL is perfectly suited to modern, cutting-edge frameworks such as React, React Native, Angular, Vue, and .NET Core, among others. What’s more, the GraphiQL in-browser IDE provides an intuitive developer experience that simplifies and accelerates integration, which in turn saves time in development while optimizing teamwork.

Webhooks are another modern integration solution that let WorkflowGen processes exchange information with other applications through HTTP POST requests. Since they allow instant communication, webhooks are efficient and very easy to deploy, and can be used to build integrations with extendable applications such as Slack, GitHub, and Dropbox.

Outgoing webhooks, introduced in WorkflowGen 6.6, are a simple way to send HTTP POST requests to external applications, such as to post a message to a Slack channel. WorkflowGen’s SENDHTTPPOST application enables process designers to create outgoing webhooks via system actions in workflows.

With version 7.0, WorkflowGen now supports incoming webhooks as well, which can be sent from external applications to WorkflowGen by exchanging JSON payloads using HTTP POST requests.

In order to make integration development even faster and easier, we’ve created a new WorkflowGen Integration Guide that covers GraphQL API and webhooks, along with earlier integration features such as the web services API, custom authentication modules, User Portal customization, and notifications. The WorkflowGen Forum & Knowledge Base also features a dedicated development and integration section that includes many tutorials and FAQs.
