  • It turns out that the developers involved in React are making it easier to get into contributing.

@AntonNiklasson: “I decided to take a shot at contributing to #reactjs. I guess I’ll learn a lot.”

I’ve been writing a bit of React during the last few months. Today I decided that I’m going to really make an effort to contribute. I’ve had this idea before when working with Angular and other frameworks, but it is intimidating. I guess I’m afraid of feeling stupid and rejected.

Goodbye ../../../ — Boyney

  • Now lets look our component again using modulesDirectories .
  • As you can see we are importing other components to use inside this component and we are using the filepath to find the component.
  • If we want to refactor our folder structure we have to change the file path in this component and maybe others.

  • Well, there’s a ton of differences, but they do share a main thing.
  • A component can use plain javascript for the interactions inside itself and with other components, but as your app grows you will need to add more tools as you go.

React Native · Issue #119 · yahoo/react-intl · GitHub

  • In the FormattedDate component (date.js) the return {formattedDate}; should be replaced with a createElement function like used in the FormattedMessage component.
  • I’m planning to create a component to abstract out messages like this: https://github.com/ngduc/react-setup/blob/master/src/app/Home/messages.js
  • @gerbenupinion I don’t think using tag prefix makes sense, component is probably better.

@bguiz: “At 6-ish this evening: Publish Websites with #ReactJs

React can render both to in-browser DOM –
which is the default use case –
as well as to an in-memory string –
which is usually used in server-side rendering.
Thanks to
static-site-generator-webpack-plugin
doing the heavy lifting,
and a few node modules of my own,
it can also be used to generate static sites.
This is perfect for hosting on Github Pages,
or similar hosts.
